Garage Sale Finds

My first trip, I think I did okay.  I didnt haggle too much cause almost everything was cheaper then I would have thought.  I did notice most of the store was for babies and kids, so I took a mental note of this for the future. One lady had buckets of baby clothes for 50cents each, I think I even saw some with price tags.  I think we hit about 7, they were all on the smaller side but we did find somethings that were on our written list, and a few finds that we had mentioned wanting recently.

Here is the break down:
Crock-pot $3.00
Exercise Ball and Pump $1.00
Lauren Hill CD 50c
Phone Charger $1.00 (He asked for $5 -I haggled)
Bird House 25c  (it winds up and plays music)
Burn's Poems Book $1.00 (See Below)

Not sure if you can see it but it says
"Merry Christmas  1896
For Mary
From Mother"

I love that it was from a mother for her daughter, (I have such a close relationship with my mother, It pulled me in) plus I started collecting old books, I love the look and history of them.

The Book is a collect of poems and works of Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796) Be Alexander Howland Smith
So I looked up Alexander Howland Smith on Wiki... to find out he was a document forger, who spent 12 months in jail for it.  Interesting!
"Alexander Howland Smith, (?-?), also known as the "Antique Smith", was a Scottish document forger in the 1880's. His forgeries still surface today."

And here it is with my other book finds from the past 2 years, most came from the library in Waterford Ny (My home Town)  They sell book for $2.00 a bag full!
